Driving Instructors

Can affiliates take payment from the student directly?

Yes. Affiliates may collect payment, but must use DriveWise BC-provided receipts that include both company names, as required by ICBC for transparency and compliance.

Can we set our own pricing for the GLP?

Yes. You may charge students the rate that works for your local market. Many affiliates choose a price point slightly below competing GLP programs in their region to remain competitive.

Do affiliate instructors need specific training to teach this program?

Your instructors do not teach the classroom portion—DriveWise BC handles that. However, your in-car instructors must follow the provided DriveWise BC practical competencies and training standards. We provide guidance, documentation, and ongoing support to ensure consistency across all affiliate locations.

Do students register for the GLP through Go! Driving or through our school?

This can be done either way. Some affiliates prefer that Go! Driving handles registration through DriveWise BC directly, while others take payment themselves and forward required onboarding information. We are flexible and can work with whichever model best suits your operations.

How are theoretical and practical competencies handled?

DriveWise BC completes and records all theoretical competencies. Once the student completes classroom and e-learning components, we transfer them to your school along with their progress. You then complete the practical competencies during in-car lessons. Once both components are complete, your school issues the Declaration of Completion.

How do we get started as an affiliate?

Simply contact DriveWise BC to schedule an introductory meeting. We will review program requirements, answer questions, confirm compatibility, and, if both parties agree, onboard your school to begin offering the ICBC-Approved GLP program to your students.

How does auditing work for affiliates?

DriveWise BC manages all ICBC classroom and curriculum auditing requirements. Affiliates must maintain accurate in-car records and comply with ICBC’s GLP standards. We provide support and documentation to ensure your school is always prepared for audits.

How does the affiliate program work?

The affiliate program allows your driving school to offer the DriveWise BC & Go! Driving ICBC-Approved GLP Course without having to create your own curriculum, classroom structure, or administrative processes. DriveWise BC delivers the instructor-led classroom sessions and e-learning, and your school provides the in-car training needed for GLP completion. We handle curriculum updates, auditing support, student management systems, and recordkeeping, while you focus on behind-the-wheel instruction.

How is the affiliate program priced?

Through DriveWise BC, Go! Driving charges a per-student fee (e.g., $300 + GST) at the end of each month, based on the number of students enrolled in the GLP. Affiliate driving schools set their own retail price for students as long as it aligns with ICBC guidelines.

What are the benefits of becoming an affiliate?

Affiliates gain access to a fully approved GLP curriculum, modern e-learning, and DriveWise BC’s proven 50-year history of delivering high-quality driver education. You can expand your service offerings, attract more students, increase revenue, and reduce administrative burden. This partnership allows smaller or remote schools to offer programs they may not otherwise have the resources to deliver.

What if our school already has its own GLP curriculum?

Some GLP schools partner with DriveWise BC because they prefer our modernized classroom delivery, e-learning structure, administrative support, or because their current curriculum is outdated. You may also use us solely for classroom or solely for e-learning, depending on your needs—there is no requirement to replace your entire program.

What qualifications are needed to become an affiliate driving school?

Affiliate partners must be ICBC-licensed driving schools in good standing, with properly licensed instructors and safe, insured training vehicles. We also review school reputation, operational professionalism, and alignment with DriveWise BC’s standards for student care.

What responsibilities do affiliate driving schools have?

Affiliate driving schools are responsible for delivering the in-car GLP training, maintaining ICBC licensing requirements for instructors and vehicles, completing practical competencies, and issuing the Declaration of Completion after students meet all requirements. Affiliates must also use DriveWise BC-provided receipts and documentation as required by ICBC. They must follow the ICBC Code of Conduct at all times.

What responsibilities does Go! Driving take care of?

Through DriveWise BC, Go! Driving provides all classroom sessions, e-learning modules, curriculum materials, student progress tracking, ICBC auditing support, theoretical competencies, student transfers, and classroom instructor qualifications. We also maintain curriculum modernization and compliance so affiliates don’t have to build or update their own teaching materials.
